A unique, certified integration between dSPACE TargetLink and BTC TestStack.
TargetLink is a production code generator from dSPACE that generates highly efficient C code directly from MathWorks Simulink/Stateflow models. Feature highlights include informative block dialogs, a powerful hierarchical data dictionary and best-in-class AUTOSAR support.
Testing is often one of the most time-consuming tasks in model-based development — significant time can go into building test harnesses on model and code level, and providing scaling and range information to the test tool, before the first test case even exists. Thanks to the close integration between dSPACE TargetLink and BTC TestStack, that effort is dramatically reduced, giving TargetLink users more time to focus on their testing activities.
BTC TestStack analyzes all TargetLink model details — subsystems, interfaces, data types, scaling and ranges — and automatically extracts the mapping between model and code artifacts, including the hierarchical model structure, so smaller sub-functions can be tested at model and code level without manual changes. Internal calibration parameters and display variables are detected too, and made accessible at every simulation level.
Beyond Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), BTC TestStack supports TargetLink Processor-in-the-Loop (PIL) simulations, running the generated code on the target processor itself. Where AUTOSAR is used, BTC TestStack also provides dedicated support for AUTOSAR communication mechanisms like Client/Server or RTE-Status.

Dr. Rainer Otterbach (VP Corporate Development & Strategy, dSPACE) and Hans Jürgen Holberg (CSO, BTC Embedded Systems) signing the renewed partnership in 2018.
Valuable partnerships aren't created when two companies sign a contract — they create value for customers, especially when teams on both sides build trusting relationships through regular collaboration. That's exactly what has been happening between dSPACE and BTC since 2008, across marketing and sales, development, product management, engineering and support.
BTC Embedded Systems AG is a dSPACE Strategic Partner for dSPACE TargetLink, providing the best possible toolchain integration while dramatically simplifying support cases, trainings and engineering projects for shared customers.

In large TargetLink models, individual test cases often need to run against a smaller subsystem or sub-function, but isolating that subsystem for harness creation can mean time-consuming, error-prone manual work and extra artifacts to store and maintain.
With BTC TestStack's hierarchical test approach, this is handled automatically in the background — the needed harness models are generated on the fly from the original model, so they never need to be stored or manually updated.

BTC TestStack (the successor to BTC EmbeddedPlatform, including BTC EmbeddedTester BASE, BTC EmbeddedTester, BTC EmbeddedSpecifier and BTC EmbeddedValidator) has been certified by German TÜV Süd as fit for use in safety-critical software development projects.
The certificate addresses functional-safety standards across multiple industries:
For ISO 26262, BTC TestStack is certified with the highest Tool Confidence Level (TCL), valid for all ASIL levels including ASIL D. We provide the certificate and report to customers free of charge on request — removing most tool-qualification effort on the customer side.
